The total amount of deaths from vaping in the US is 39. Federal health officials have reportedly found vitamin E acetate in the lung fluid of more than two-dozen patients diagnosed with the “mysterious vaping-related illness that's so far sickened over 2,000 people” and killed 39. “Vitamin E acetate is an additive in some THC-containing products”. The announcement doesn't officially rule out that other possible ingredients may be causing the lung injuries, but a report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said no other potential toxins were detected in its tests. Although vaping is an alternative to smoking cigarettes, it is still a bad thing to do because if anything it can be more addicting.
Through this article, “electronic cigarette vapor can cause a condition called mucociliary dysfunction, which makes it harder to move mucus or phlegm”. This makes it harder to breathe and harder to clear your throat. The phlegm gets trapped in your throat/lungs, which is even harder to breathe because the phlegm is thicker to move than regular mucus. The phlegm is caused by aerobic exercise, certain foods such as milk and hot peppers, or tobacco use. In this article, “Roughly 20 percent of 10th-graders and 9 percent of eighth-graders reported vaping”. Nicotine is being used by everyone, even 8th graders, which is ridiculous. How are these kids even getting them in their hands? The kids are using them basically on a daily basis which is terrible for our society and our future.
In conclusion, what we can do to help all these problems with vaping is to raise the prices of vape/cigarettes, make a smoking law to make the age for smoking 21, and Limiting tobacco marketing. Raising the prices will be good because the kids won’t be able to pay for the vapes because they are picky with money. Making a smoking law will be good because the vape shops won’t sell the vapes to the kids because it will be against the law and they can get a fine for it. And limiting tobacco marketing will help because kids will have to spend more money on the product but, they don’t like to spend too much money on one thing.
